What is Pigment Removal?
This treatment works safely and effectively to reduce the appearance of freckles, pigmentation, acne scars and age spots. The laser targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light, without damaging the surrounding skin. The most common causes of pigmentation are; sun exposure, genetics, change in hormones, birthmarks, damage to the skin, medical conditions and medications. Laser pigmentation removal is not for moles or any type of raised bumps. We will do a free consultation before your treatment to make sure what we are doing can be treated successfully and safely.
Who is it for?
This treatment is most suitable for those with fair skin types due to the way the laser works by needing to see the contrasting pigment.
What can I expect?
Laser pigmentation removal is only mildly uncomfortable. The concentrated heat from the laser can make a prickly sensation that some people say is uncomfortable mainly because it's a feeling they haven't felt before but not distressing. Any post-treatment discomfort usually settles within 2 – 4 hours.
How many treatments will I need?
You’ll see an improvement after 1 treatment, but a minimum of 3 treatments and up to 6 treatments is recommended for best results.
Is there Aftercare?
It is very important you have a good skincare routine and are wearing sunblock every day, if you are not doing this it is likely that new pigmentation spots will occur due to the light sensitivity and sun. Your treatment program will be spaced out to every 4 weeks, this gives the skin enough time to resurface or for its natural cellular turnover.
Pigmentation removal procedures require very little downtime. Any sensitivity or warmth usually resolves within 2 – 4 hours. In the 48 hours following treatment, it’s normal for pigmentation to look darker than before and you may notice it continues to darken. After that, scabs or crusts will appear over the treated areas before shedding naturally. Within 14 days, healing is complete and you will notice a big difference.

What is Red Vein Removal?

There are few side effects and minimal downtime. It is best for; Red veins, spider veins dilated and broken capillaries, cherry angiomas and all round rejuvenating your appearance.

Does it treat all veins?
Anything that is purple or blue cannot be treated/you will not get the results you are after. We will do a free consultation before your treatment starts to ensure you get the best results possible.
Who can have this treatment?
This treatment is most suitable for those with light - medium coloured skin due to the way the laser works by needing to see the contrasting pigment.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically we will recommend up to four initial skin treatments. Most facial veins and red spots disappear during the course of these 4 treatments. Large and stubborn veins may reduce in size and require ongoing maintenance. Some vessels may shrink or disappear altogether during the vein treatment, while others may initially darken before disappearing over the next two weeks. We recommend 4 – 6 weeks between treatments. Schedule maintenance treatments as new veins and blood vessels appear where we can spot treat any new ones.
What can I expect after my treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, the treated area will experience mild sensitivity, some warmth and a little bit of redness which will be gone 2– 48 hours after your appointment. Generally you can get it in your lunch break and leave with little to no redness. You will need to treat your skin with care both before and after your appointment, meaning retinols and acids cannot be used for at-least a week either side. It is also important to be mindful of exposure to heat, avoiding intensive workouts and sun exposure, as well as keeping your skincare routine simple and using sunscreen religiously.

There are no major potential side effects of laser Pigmentation and Red vein removal removal you may get Mild Itching. The treated skin may be swollen and itchy, typically in cases where a previous skin condition may have occurred such as a spot where you had a graze or wound. In some cases, you may experience changes to the pigmentation of the area such as darkening, this is why we recommend a course of treatments.
