FREQUENTLY ASKED
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Exit Tattoo Removal strives for the best results with the least amount of treatments. With that said, we strive for excellent end results without compromising your skin. Treatment amounts can be extremely hard to estimate as there are many factors to consider; your skin type, age of your tattoo, ink colour and amount, and your immune system are some of the factors that may vary your number of sessions. Generally for a complete removal clients should expect anywhere between 6-10 treatments. If after a few treatments we foresee that a complete removal is less than likely we will discuss other alternatives i.e. cover-up options.
Cover-ups are extremely popular and is a quicker option. Generally to lighten a tattoo enough to commence a cover-up clients should expect around 2-3 treatments. Sometimes as little as 1 treatment will be enough to start the cover-up process.

The minimum wait between treatments is 6 weeks to allow the skin to heal sufficiently. If you are wanting a complete removal we encourage waiting a little longer, 8 weeks between each session is recommended.

DOES IT HURT?
The short answer is yes it does hurt. Laser tattoo removal is a painful treatment. We use a -35 degree cold air blower to reduce the pain and cool the skin during treatment to avoid unnessary irritation. Most clients find this more than adequate and do not need any additional numbing cream. Numbing creams can be used for laser treatment, and can be purchased at any local chemist.

CAN PERMANENT MAKEUP BE REMOVED?
Removing permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, is tricky. But yes it can be done. It depends on colour and placement as to whether the laser is best suited for this or saline removal (offered by our cosmetic tattooists in the clinic)
